The NREF Partners With Tech Up for Women

Wesley Chapel, FL --- The National Robotics Education Foundation (the-NREF.org) is proud to become an Association Partner with Tech Up For Women (www.techupforwomen.com) and participate at the Tech Up for Women Conference scheduled for November 12th in New York City.

In concert with the NREF’s mission urging robotics inclusion in school curricula, Tech Up for Women’s 2019 goal is to “tech up” women in business, in all job functions, and to advance their careers through technology.

According to Dawn Pratt, Managing Director, “Tech Up For Women was created to take the fear factor out of technology and empower women in every career to surf the technology wave. Diminishing the tech fear factor is accomplished by regular exposure to smart concepts, new technology and a new community of resources.”

JoAnn Laing, NREF’s chairwomen, said “I was impressed by the focus and breadth of their efforts as well as the roster of sponsors endorsing Tech Up For Women. We see this joint commitment as a win-win for girls to women in general as well as our two organizations.”

The NREF was created to encourage both boys and girls to pursue careers in robotics and artificial intelligence.

“We really see an alliance between our organizational missions and want to be part of this effort to demonstrate to girls and women how rewarding technology and science can be both professionally as well as personally,” added Tom Atwood, Executive Director of the NREF.

Starting March 1st and until the conference, the NREF will be promoting Tech Up for Women and its November conference on its websites, in promotional materials, and during its on-the-ground efforts. In addition, Ms. Laing will be one of the panel participants.
